Daniel "Dan" Barbeau passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 in Boise Idaho after a courageous battle with cancer. Dan was born in 1967 and was raised in Brainerd. He graduated from Brainerd High School in 1985 where he enjoyed being on the football and track teams.

Dan graduated from the University of Minnesota and continued on to receive his masters from Clemson University specializing in environmental engineering. It was during his time at the University of Minnesota that Dan made a personal relationship and commitment to Jesus Christ. The new discovery bloomed and grew as he did several ministry projects there and later in life.

After three years of working in engineering, Dan took the opportunity for a year off teaching English in Mongolia with a Christian development ministry. That was a significant year of learning and growing personally with several great relationships.

In 1997, Dan moved to Boise, ldaho for work and to experience the west. He had a lot of outdoor interests that kept him busy. Dan developed a love of white water river sports and kayaking became his main sport of interest. Professionally, Dan worked for MWH Global, and more recently has spent the past nine years as a principal engineer with Pharmer Engineering.

In 2003 Dan met the love of his life, Jennifer, in Boise. They were married a little over a year later and started off on a new set of adventures and a life of growing together. The couple was blessed with their son Jack, who was born in 2008. Jack is the apple of Dans eye with a kind spirit and vigor for life.

Dan leaves behind his wife Jennifer, son Jack, mother Freda (Freddie) Barbeau of Brainerd, sister Ramona Barbeau of Minneapolis, sister Elizabeth Barbeau of Minneapolis, nieces Sienna, Anne, and Helen, nephews Cooper and Gabe, along with a host of family in Idaho and Minnesota and good friends throughout the country and world. He was preceded in death by his father Charles.
